Wondering if anyone can offer some advice ? I was diagnosed with pmdd in 2011 and then received decalptyl plus add back tibilone until end of 2013 when I chose to come off it as wanted to start trying for a family . Unfortunately I didn't get On so well with tibilone so I chose to not use this , however I then ended up with osteoporosis in my spine . I am due another scan soon to see if it has now improved however because of this I don't think they would allow me to go back on the GNRA analogue. This really did work wonders for me and I felt better than I had for a long time whilst on it .

I became pregnant in October 2014and had my son June 2015. I was highly anxious and felt very bad with the hormones all through my pregnancy and this has unfortunately continued postnatal. I have now been diagnosed with post natal OCD but there is a huge exacerbation in my anxiety and OCD symptoms in the 10 days prior to my period .

I am now seeing a therapist who also agrees it is likely largely hormonal issues given my history . I know I will have to wait months to see the specialist PMD consultant again so went to a family planning clinic for advise. They suggested either the mirena coil or the progesterone pill called Feonelle.

Does anyone know if either of these are likely to help ? Or what other things I could try if I am no longer able to use GNRA?

Many thanks for any help offered

Given that you didn't get on with Tibilone (who does? - Horrible stuff) I think it's unlikely that you'll do well with progesterone in any form. However, that is only my opinion and some women CAN tolerate it.

What about using high dose oestrogen to stop your cycle with prog a couple of times a year to induce a bleed to protect your womb?

Worth thinking about. Good luck. x

38 years old. Suffered PMDD for many many years. Had very successful treatment on GnRH Analogues and oestrogen only HRT. Had TAH + BSO 15/11/12 for severe complex atypical hyperplasia. Hopefully now completely symptom free permanently.
